About Me
Hi there! My writing journey began when I could pick up a pen. My parents tell me how I used to run around the house with a notepad creating "yists" (lists) and stories constantly. I knew I wanted to be a writer, but I didn't ever think of it as a career option.
In high school, I decided to use my Junior and Senior years to complete college courses at Normandale Community College in Bloomington, MN using the PSEO program. I ended up having enough credits to graduate high school and receive an Associate's Degree in Liberal Arts simultaneously.
After that, I attended UW-Eau Claire for two years, earning a degree in English with an emphasis in Creative Writing, as well as a minor certificate in American Sign Language. In my senior year of college (2021), I decided to intern at the local Eau Claire arts magazine, Volume One. I honestly didn't think journalism would be for me since I had only written fiction all my life. I loved my time at Volume One so when they were hiring for an editorial position 6 months later, I applied and was accepted as an Associate Editor in January of 2022.
I learned so much as an Associate Editor way beyond my editorial talents. I learned about magazine layout, photography, and important graphic design elements in magazines. I am very grateful for my time at Volume One.
